Role: Social Media Lead

 

Reporting Manager: Communications Director

Role Type: Part-Time Remote Volunteer Role 

Commitment: 20-25 hours per month 

 

Position Outline

We are searching for a Social Media Lead to manage all aspects relating to our digital efforts on Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram (in addition to other platforms in the future), in coordination with the Somos21 Communications Director. 

 

Areas of Accountability & Major Responsibilities

  • Follow the monthly digital strategy, defining what topics will be published every month
  • Organise a strategy follow-up
  • Guide the social media team in all aspects related to their work – publishing, graphic design, messaging
  • Have an action plan to differentiate urgent matters vs regular publications
  • Approve content to be published on social networks
  • Support the diffusion of the campaigns and events created by Somos21 

 

Required Education, Experience and Technical Skills

  • Strong interest in social media / digital marketing 
  • Bachelor’s degree or certificate in digital marketing or similar (preferred)
  • Deep understanding of communications to external stakeholders 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage and delegate tasks 
  • Ability to work well both individually and as a part of a diverse team
  • Bi-lingual English and Spanish (preferred) 

 

Role: Community Manager and Social Media Lead Backup

 

Reporting Manager: Social Media Lead

Role Type: Part-Time Remote Volunteer Role 

Commitment: 20-25 hours per month 

 

Position Outline

We are searching for a Community Manager to manage all aspects relating to our digital efforts on Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram (in addition to other platforms in the future), in coordination with the Somos21 Social Media Lead and Communications Director. 

 

Areas of Accountability & Major Responsibilities

  • Lead tasks such as replying to messages, comments and shares on social media networks, particularly Latinos in Australia 
  • Increase the interaction (comments and customer queries) with followers in a timely manner and aligned with the mission and vision of Somos 21
  • Monitor and report on feedback and online reviews
  • Support the monthly digital strategy 
  • Support the social media team in different aspects related to their work – publishing, graphic design, messaging. 
  • Evaluate content to be published on social networks
  • Create monthly social media reports, including recommendations for areas of improvement 

 

Required Education, Experience and Technical Skills

  • BSc degree in marketing or relevant field
  • Proven work experience as a community manager
  • Hands on experience with social media management for brands
  • Ability to interpret website traffic and online customer engagement metrics
  • Knowledge of online marketing and marketing channels
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Understanding and practical experience with Canva
  • Deep understanding of communications to external stakeholders 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and creative mindset
  • Ability to work well both individually and as a part of a diverse team
  • Bi-lingual English and Spanish (preferred)

Position Outline

We are searching for a digital designer to lead the creation of graphic content on our social networks, in addition to providing marketing support for Somos21 events, campaigns and initiatives. 

 

Areas of Accountability & Major Responsibilities

  • Define the strategy for graphic design and create a brief design
  • Lead the work of the social media team in terms of graphic design
  • Coordinate with the Social Media Lead the frequency and type of content 
  • Create videos to promote events and campaigns
  • Perform specific marketing, design and communication tasks and activities as required 
  • Coordinate support for different Somos internal digital campaigns

 

Required Education, Experience and Technical Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or certificate in digital marketing or similar (preferred) and/or experience in the area
  • Understanding and practical experience with Canva 
  • Ability to create graphics linked with communications strategy
  • Strong video creation and editing skills
  • Ability to be organised and to define what is urgent and relevant vs less important topics
  • Ability to work well both individually and as a part of a diverse team
  • Bi-lingual English and Spanish (preferred)
