No new cases of coronavirus have been reported in the state of New South Wales (NSW) for the first time since health authorities began documenting COVID-19 infections.
The state recorded zero new cases between Sunday at 8 p.m. until Monday at that same time among the 6048 tests that were performed again to detect infections.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian asked not to let her guard down with the relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions, considering that complacency remains the main enemy in this fight against the pandemic.
- There have been no cases of COVID-19 reported in the last 24 hours in NSW.
- In total NSW has registered 3,053 cases of COVID-19, more than 40 percent of the national total. The number of deceased stands at 46 in this state, while the national total is 47.
- The state has begun the process of opening up the economy.
On Monday the premier announced a single positive case of coronavirus.

"We know that there are currently people in New South Wales who are walking with the virus and don't know they have it," Berejiklian told reporters on Tuesday.
The New South Wales Parliament will meet during the day to pass emergency coronavirus legislation.
Berejiklian expects the legislative regular sessions to resume next month.
In NSW, students have returned to the classrooms, although they will only do so one day per week at the beginning until face-to-face classes gradually return to normal.
Also next Friday, restrictions on outdoor meetings and cafes and restaurants in NSW will be relaxed.
Berejiklian stressed that it is still necessary to be alert and urged everyone with any flu symptoms to stay home and get tested.
